How does the Wordscapes scoring system work?

You earn points for each valid word you find in the level. Longer words will earn you more points than shorter ones. Each level has a minimum point threshold to reach to complete it. Earning enough points to get 1, 2 or 3 stars will let you advance faster.
Your final score also determines how many stars you earn for a level. One star means your score was below average, and 3 stars is above average. Bonus words randomly appear on the board, which offer big point bonuses if you can find them.
